How long building an extension takes

The first working version takes about 2-3 minutes.

After that you refine it by telling PlugThis what to change: "make the button bigger", "add an export button", "only run this on Gmail". Each round takes another minute or two.

Most people go from an idea to a finished extension in fifteen to thirty minutes.

Why it varies

A simple tool that does one thing is often right on the first or second try. Something with a backend, several screens or fiddly behaviour on a specific site takes more rounds. Neither is a problem, but it's worth knowing the difference before you start.
