If the extension you're building uses AI for something, summarising a page, drafting a reply, translating text, it calls an AI provider using your API key rather than ours.

Why it's set up this way

You pay the provider directly at their prices. We take no cut and add no per-token fee, so we're never in the middle of your AI spend. In practice most people spend under a dollar a month.

You can also switch provider whenever you like without rebuilding anything.

Which providers work

OpenAI, Google Gemini and Groq. Groq is worth knowing about because it runs strong open-source models like Qwen and Kimi K2, which get you close to the closed-source ones for very little.

Where to put the key

Paste it into PlugThis when you add an AI feature. It's used to make calls on your behalf and nothing else.
